Mantras, Meditations, Manifestations... Oh My! The Power of Positive Thinking.



Mantras, meditations, and manifestations have become a widely adopted strategy in maintaining good health, and achieving success. Researchers, and psychologist discovered long ago, that negative emotions have a direct effect on how we feel in addition to how we behave. Dr. Deepak Chopra, and Dr. Wayne Dyers encourage people dealing with negative emotions such as fear, or grief to incorporate one or all three of these techniques. What we think is as important as what we say to ourselves. If we’re not careful we can talk or think our way into depression, or anxiety. Popular psychology expert, Kendra Cherry, suggests that replacing negative self-talk with positive thoughts increases optimism, esteem, and overall well-being.

“Mantras” a Sanskrit word that means a sacred utterance, are phrases or chants that creates sound waves to promote healing, creativity, and spiritual growth. Thomas Ashley –Farrand author of Healing Mantras claims that reciting mantras promote sound wave energy that absorbs negative emotions. “Om, ham, yam, ram,” are common tones used to clear energy fields.

Meditations on the other hand are a little more complex. Meditation is a practice of training your brain to induce a mode of conscientiousness. Which isn't easy to do. It permits you to clear the mind by succumbing to total relaxation. A meditative state may reveal troubling emotions such as rage, or pain to analyze that state. The goal of meditating is to recognize the way we respond to negative emotions. By doing so, we direct awareness internally until pure awareness is achieved.

Manifestation is a metaphysical art, and science of acquiring our desires into the physical world. Placing attention on your intentions with visualizations, and affirmations like " I am couregous" promotes confidance, enthusiasm, and expectation. Using this natural process with specific positive vibrations of energy which we normally experience, we can ultimately attract our heart desires quickly, and effortlessly. As negativity continues to influence our society, it is important that we understand that what we think is parallel to what we will be. Staying balanced is a duty that we must take seriously if we want to maintain happiness. Overall, we all have our ways of dealing with challenges, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking time everyday to tell yourself "I am great" or "I will not fear". This optimisic attitude promotes good energy that can ultimately lead to truly fulfilling your desires.
